Curiosity
Nosiola (also called Groppello bianco) perhaps best represents the wines of Trentino: it is an ancient native variety that probably takes its name from the word “hazelnut”, in reference to its characteristic aromas. Alessandro’s father was the first to bottle Nosiola in purity. The low yield per vine allows a light maceration with fermentation both in steel and in wood.
Author Suggestion
“Nosiola with a straw yellow color, a fresh, balsamic and persistent aroma, consistent, long and clear on the palate, vaguely bitter, so much so as to recall hazelnut, accompanied by a hint of wild flowers in spring. The wine gives its best after at least one year of bottle aging; it is completely dry and constantly evolving. ” Alessandro Fanti
